CALLING ALL
POLITICAL
SCIENTISTS!!
It's Almost Time
for Spring
Flowers and Warmer Weather. So...
That
Must Mean It's Time for the KPSA Annual
March
Conference!!
The Kentucky
Political
Science Association, Western Kentucky University Department of
Political
Science and The New York Times invite
you to attend
the 44th Annual Meeting of the KPSA on March 4 & 5, 2005. A preliminary program with registration
form is enclosed.
This year's
conference, at
the Carroll Knicely Conference Center at the WKU South Campus, is
shaping up to
be one of the largest gatherings of political scientists in recent
memories. So, make plans now to
attend. Here's what you don't want
to miss.
There will be
lively
discussions on popular culture and voting behavior, congressional
campaigns,
progressive ambition, Canadian electoral reform, and political trust. Take part in exciting exchanges on the
insincerity of sincerity, leadership in a theocracy, turmoil in Haiti,
impact
of the environment on crime counts and Marbury revisited.
Paul Blanchard will lead House Speaker
Jodie Richards and a panel of experts on making sense of the 2004
elections.
You can't miss the
roundtable
discussions on US foreign policy, the economic status of Kentucky women
and
tips for building a bridge from high school social studies to political
science. Student papers range from
the impact of 9/11 on foreign policy to women and African Americans in
the
Antebellum South to a discussion of the US-Japan Security Alliance.
The Governor and
First Lady
of Kentucky have been invited to participate in the Conference.
And on Saturday,
there's a
Big Red Sundae Bar!!
